Time to get active – Summer activities around the Schladminger mountains
If you are already enthusiastic about Schladming and its mountain world from the ski vacation, then you should definitely take a look at the summer. Because the Schladming-Dachstein Region has a lot to offer from spring to autumn. No matter if you are looking for some peace in the beautiful nature or if you just want to really exhaust yourself with biking, hiking, climbing or trail running – you will love the Schladming mountain summer – promised!

From easy running and walking routes over asphalt, forest, and gravel paths to demanding trails in various difficulty levels, our vacation region offers a wide selection of routes where you can really push yourself. In trail running, a distinction is made between easy trails for beginners, the technically more challenging medium trails, and X-treme trails in high alpine terrain. For the latter two, appropriate equipment and good tour planning are essential.
Do you want to reach great heights? For passionate climbers, the adjacent sun plateau Ramsau is a real paradise. The Dachstein south walls offer 22 via ferratas and climbing tours in different levels of difficulty, including 2 children's via ferratas, 1 youth via ferrata as well as „Kali's climbing garden“ for little climbers. Beginners in climbing will be introduced to the art of via ferrata by experienced mountain guides. For experienced climbers, the longest climbing tour in the Alps with the via ferratas „Randkluft“, „Anna“ and „Johann“ with 1,200 meters of elevation gain is a true challenge.
Feeling like a little refreshment? If the water of the 300 crystal clear mountain lakes might be a bit too cold for you, numerous swimming pools and bathing lakes offer just the right cooling off after a sporty day in the mountains. The Erlebnisbad Schladming is just a 3-minute walk away and, like many other bathing options, is FREE with the Schladming-Dachstein Sommercard.
