On your way over alpine meadows, through cool forests, and past more than 300 crystal-clear mountain lakes, you too will find your personal favorite spot. Die Barbara has several such favorite places – we are happy to share a few of them with you.

Mountain Lake
Get out of bed! If you can overcome the urge to leave your cozy bed before dawn, we can promise you one thing: It will definitely be worth it. Observing a sunrise from a mountain peak is surely one of the most beautiful things you will ever see. For our sunrise hike, you drive via the Planai road to the Planai mountain station – it's still too early for a gondola ride. You park your car at the Planaihof, and then continue on foot to the Planai mountain station. From here, a well-marked and walkable gravel path leads to Krahbergzinken, whose summit you will reach after about 1 hour and 15 minutes.
What should you pack for your sunrise hike?
Since you will be starting your sunrise hike in the dark, you absolutely need a good flashlight – a headlamp would be best suited. Non-slip hiking shoes are a must for mountain hiking. A warm jacket plus hat is also necessary even in summer – the nights in our mountain region usually bring cool air. Be sure to pack a hearty mountain breakfast and a small blanket to sit on – with a mountain picnic, you can particularly enjoy the sunrise. And then it's just about switching off your thoughts and marveling. We are already looking forward to seeing you return to die Barbara filled with happiness hormones and a relaxed smile.

Your kids urgently need exercise, fresh mountain air, and plenty of fun? Then start with your family right next door at the Planai cable car – the gondola ride itself is already a highlight for the little ones. Once you arrive at the mountain station, you are already at the starting point for Hopsiland, where you and your family can experience an exciting circular hike with fun play stations like Hopsis Water World, Snow Hares, Hopsi Express, and much more. You definitely won’t hear your kids asking, “How much further is it?”
